Council chambers and committee rooms: buying interactive panels on a procurement plan

Local government buys on a process, and the process is the point. A panel purchase that a school signs off in a week can take a council a quarter, because it has to survive a procurement plan, a budget line and an audit. None of that is a problem if the supplier is set up for it.

Every price on this site is the price, in New Zealand dollars, GST inclusive. You can put it straight into a procurement plan or a budget bid without asking us for a quote first. When you do need something formal, request a written quote: it carries a reference number, GST shown separately, freight itemised, and a 28-day validity. That is the document to attach to the PO.

Chambers and committee rooms

The room that matters most is the one where decisions are made in public. Two things need to happen at once: everyone at the table can read the papers, and members attending remotely can see and hear the room.

The 86 inch HM is the panel for it. The 4K display at 400 candela per square metre stays readable with the blinds up. The 50 megapixel camera frames the people in the room automatically, and the eight-microphone array picks up to eight metres, which covers a full committee table. Your existing meeting platform runs on a module inside the panel or a mini PC behind it, so there is no change to how officers already join.

A useful extra: a plan, a map layer or a consent drawing can be marked up live on the panel with a stylus and the marked copy saved, which is a cleaner record than a photo of a whiteboard.

Service centres and libraries

Front counters need information, not a meeting room. The 27 inch rotating screen stands portrait for wayfinding, notices and queue information, then turns landscape when a staff member needs to show a customer something. It runs on a 9500 milliamp-hour battery, so the counter layout is not dictated by where the power point is.

Training rooms and emergency operations

Councils run training, civil defence exercises and public meetings out of the same few rooms. A ZM panel on a wheeled floor stand moves between them through a standard doorway, with nothing drilled and no contractor. Whiteboarding, a browser and casting are built in, so it works before IT has touched it.

Support and warranty

Panels carry a warranty of up to three years and are supported from Christchurch, so a fault is a local conversation rather than an offshore ticket. Stock is held here, and collection from 18 Iversen Terrace is free.
